7 Powerful Mindset Shifts To Create Extraordinary Success
Do you want to achieve extraordinary success? Do you know what you have to do to position yourself for your success? It’s your Mindset
Your mindset is everything
The things we believe and stories we tell ourselves creates our mindset. Our perception creates our reality and our beliefs create our results.
Knowing this, to achieve extraordinary results, you have to position your mindset for success in a way that will shift your belief, which will change your outcome and results to success. But how do you do that? How can I shift my mindsets to achieve success?
Here are 7 Mindset shifts to create extraordinary success
Believe in Yourself
This is the first and most critical step on your journey to success. Most people miss this step and wonder why they are not on track to success.
Read this quote by James Clear
If you don’t believe in yourself and your efforts to achieve your goals, it would be difficult to continue on that journey when the tough time comes.
I affirm this to myself every day to align my mind for belief in myself “My energy and efforts are rewarded with growth, skills, and results”. I believe that whatever I commit to will produce rewards. This is the sure-fire way to overcome obstacles, self-doubt, negative thinking, and discouragement from other people. Think of it as the foundation of a building. When the foundation is rock-solid, nothing can shake it. Your belief is that foundation.
Now, if you think belief is just a one-time thing, you are wrong!
To achieve extraordinary success, this is a constant thing you must practice every day. You could do that by affirmations, quotes, music, journaling, having an accountability partner, and more.
If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will? Honestly, if you don’t believe that you will succeed, who on earth will believe in you.
Work on Yourself
The other day, I was listening to a motivational speech. And the guy was saying that there are only two things you need to do to achieve success. In my mind, I was like “Ok, give me the two things”.
Then he went on to say that, they are not so sexy, they are not secrets because everyone knows about them but most people are not willing to do them.
Do I know them already? Because this guy just told me I do.
Then he said. The not to sexy, not so secret things you need to do to achieve success are
- Work on yourself
- Take consistent Action
I was in the middle of being confused and being surprised. The truth is that we know we have to work on ourselves and take consistent action to achieve success, but we don’t do it.
You have to work on yourself to grow. If you are not growing, you are dying. If you’re not getting the results you’re looking for, stop looking for better strategies. Instead, look inside. Try to continuously improve yourself, by expanding your vision, skills, and abilities
How to work on yourself
Most people want to achieve big results. And in order for you to do so, you have to think big.
Thinking big = Big results
I think it’s a very simple equation right? Thinking big is essential to your extraordinary success. Your big goals and ideas serve as a launching pad for your actions.
What do you want to achieve in the next 5 years? Think big. Don’t think about goals that will not stretch your comfort zone.
Here’s a simple 2 step formula
I learned this concept from Grant Cardone’s book “The 10x Rule”. Here’s what you do
- Set targets or goals for yourself that are 10X greater than what you think and believe you can achieve
- Take actions that are 10X greater than what you believe are necessary to achieve your goals
Multiply your current goals by 10, and multiply your current actions by 10. This is also another way to think big.
Choose To See Things Positively
Life is all about perception. What a person sees as reality may be completely different from another person in the same situation. It depends on our mindset, beliefs, identity, behavior, and so much more.
You have the choice to see things in a positive way. You can’t have extraordinary results with a negative mindset. Successful people are positive thinkers and they seem to have a different way of dealing with the world that sets them apart from average.
- They have a clear goal they want to achieve and believe in themselves to accomplish what they want
- Secondly, They look for the good in every problem or challenge. When things go wrong, they reason out solutions and work towards it, not cry and complain about the problem.
You can train your mind to be positive in every situation by leveraging some simple concepts. All you have to do is to feed your mind with positive and self-development materials and focus on uplifting thoughts.
When negative thoughts or problems arises remember that complaining will never solve the problem. Your positive response and action are needed. Focus on what you can do that might make that situation less challenging.
Have an Action Mindset
“The distance between your dream and reality is called Action” – Unknown
While some of us might have adopted the different mindset shifts above, making things happen in the world, achieving our goals, growing towards our full potential are only made available to a few people.
Because the Universe rewards those who take action. Not those who talk about it, not those who learn about it, not those who set goals, but those who take action
Taking actions separates the winners from the non-winners… high performers from everyday people. Build the mindset that nothing happens if you don’t take action
How to learn how to take action
This is a summary from Jack Canfield.
It is a powerful strategy to get you into the flow of taking action and its called The Rule of 5
Here it is: Every day, do 5 things that will move you closer to your goal – 5 concrete action steps
- If you want to achieve success in your business, do five things to grow your business.
- If you want to get in shape, do five things to improve your health
Practice your “5 Things a Day” habit and after three weeks – not only will you have taken major action toward your life goals, you will have developed a new habit of being pro-active in creating your future.
Let’s look at this scenario.
Someone wants to lose weight. He has thought about how much weight he wants to lose over a specific period of time. He has set actionable goals to achieve. He is using the “Rule of 5” every day to take him closer to his goals.
But… after 1 month, he stops taking action. He stops working out. He stops eating healthy.
Now do you think he will achieve his goal of losing weight if he doesn’t take action?
I guess not. There is a difference between taking action and taking consistent action which is being committed to your cause. To see extraordinary results, you have to be disciplined and take consistent action.
Be committed to your goal and don’t stop until you have achieved it. When you have achieved it, set a bigger goal and aim for that. By doing this, you are growing
Be Immersed in the Journey
Being immersed in the journey towards your extraordinary success is really important. Most people on their journey to success because it’s difficult and takes time, but most importantly they don’t like what they are doing.
Your strong “why” will strengthen you when you are procrastinating. It will give you hope when you have failed. If you are not immersed in the journey, they is no way you will enjoy what you are doing.
Unsuccessful people only want to achieve the goal or result they want, but they completely forget about the journey it will take to achieve that goal which is basically 99% of the work. Enjoy what you do, and find a way to enjoy the process leading up to the result.
Tony Robbins said, to achieve your purpose find something bigger than yourself and serve others to the best of your ability. If you do this, you will enjoy what you do and you will be immersed in the journey
